Security Analyst

Location: Sioux Falls, SD

Position Summary:

The Security Analyst is responsible for triaging and analyzing alerts generated by information security systems. This role involves staying current on emerging threats and attack methodologies to proactively anticipate potential security breaches. The Security Analyst supports incident response activities, identifies opportunities to enhance security tools, and contributes to tool integration and development. The role also involves developing detailed reports related to incidents and outages, providing valuable insights to strengthen the organization’s overall security posture.

What will you do:

Accountabilities

Security Monitoring and Threat Detection

Develop, triage, investigate, and escalate alerts and reports from information security tools.

  • Identify opportunities for more effective alerting.
  • Prioritize alerts to manage time effectively.
  • Support remediation decision-making.
  • Identify and tune for false positives.
  • Investigate alerts and aggregate relevant data for incident escalation.

Incident Response

Perform incident response planning and execution.

Testing & Training

Educate Bank personnel on security issues. Stay current on Cyber security trends. Facilitate assessments and audits of information security controls.

  • Educate and promote security policy and security training to bank personnel.
  • Assist with bank wide security training and programs.
  • Assist with security assessments and audits.
  • Monitor security training and programs.

Qualifications

Secondary education in computer science or related field preferred. Two or more years of relevant work experience or a combination of education/experience that would enable incumbent to meet accountabilities and required competencies of the position. Experience with SIEM preferred.
