Business Banking Associate

Department: Business Banking
Location: Sioux Falls, SD

Position Summary:

As a Business Banking Associate, you will provide administrative support to Business Bankers, function managers, and related departments. Responsibilities include coordinating meetings and events, preparing complex documents, and supporting various departmental activities. You will collect, compile, and analyze data to create both standard and custom reports that support decision-making. A strong understanding of banking laws and regulations is essential, and duties must be performed in compliance with these standards. This role requires independent judgment and discretion, and you will also serve as a resource and provide guidance to other support staff.

What will you do:

Accountabilities

File Maintenance

Perform file maintenance in an efficient and accurate manner that aligns with department goals and objectives.

  • Scan and maintain credit file documents in electronic document management system.
  • Forward critical documents to Loan QA in a timely manner.
  • Pull UCC searches, credit bureau reports, flood determinations, Onboard Advisor reports, and organizational documents.
  • Update and review ticklers and document exceptions.

Establish Loan Documents

Create loan documentation that is accurate and in compliance with laws and regulations.

  • Prepare line sheets & loan worksheets in accordance with approval documentation.
  • Review accuracy of loan documents pre-closing and verify completion post close.
  • Complete supplemental documentation required for loan closing and include in loan packet (Statement of Intent for Joint Credit, Certification of Beneficial Ownership, Sweep Agreements, etc.).
  • Organize loan packet in a professional manner.

Liaison

Serve as the liaison between lenders and other Bank departments.

  • Process/enter basic loan transactions into system by direction of customer or lender (loan payments, advances, transfers).
  • Complete Business Solutions Interest Forms and waiver/refund request forms.
  • Research exceptions from Loan QA and assist the lender in resolving them.

Compliance

Maintain a working knowledge of guidelines, policies, laws and regulations associated with work responsibilities. Ensure compliance in processes and related communication(s). Monitor and audit work regularly. Identify, address and/or escalate issues appropriately.

  • Develop an understanding of Loan Policy and Loan Guidelines.
  • Collect and record data for completion of CRA forms.
  • Gather and review documentation for new customers to complete CIP forms accurately.
  • Collect and verify documentation for completion of Beneficial Ownership Certificates.

Qualifications

Secondary education in related field preferred. Relevant work experience preferred, including banking or related field, or a combination of education/experience that would enable incumbent to meet accountabilities and required competencies of the position.
